I had a visitor early in the morning today.
"Patrao, tujo aadar azai" (Boss, your help needed)
As usual, I spelt out the 'rights'. 'If you are guilty, you deserve
punishment'

"I am ready to pay the fine" was the reply
"Fine -- but tell me the problem", I said.
"They took both our motro-cycles away"
"Who"
"The Forest Officers"

The story:
Couple of our village boys were catching 'frogs' at Bodgini Temple, Mapusa, as
late as 1 a.m. Sunday. They were caught red-handed with four to five frogs by
the Forest people and had their motorbikes confiscated. They have been told to
report to the Campal office.

I have told them that I cannot do anything since I am also partly involved with
the 'save frogs campaign, to go to the FD and pay whatever fine is levied,
importantly, not to repeat the crime.

A big Cheers! to the 'Save Frogs Campaign " N a big thank you to the active
campaigners.

Perhaps, next monsoon season Goans will be able to hear the loud chorus singing
by frogs throughout the nights that has been missing for some many years, and
which nobody complains about but is appreciated.

And
Not to forget the Forest Officials involved - Many cheers to them for a job
well done.
