Freedom fighters to be honoured Panaji (PTI): Around 41 freedom fighters will be honoured on the occasion of Goa Revolution Day to be held here on June 18.
Various functions will be organised at the state and taluka level to pay tributes to the memory of freedom fighters and martyrs for their valiant efforts and supreme sacrifices for Goa's freedom struggle, a press release issued here stated. The day assumes historic significance as it was on this day in 1946 that Goans resolved to fight against the Portuguese rule, the release said. Goa Governor S C Jamir will preside over as the Chief Guest for the function.
