A couple of weeks ago, Miguel Braganza told us to watch the Rape of Goa and
weep in the streets. Anticipating a flood of tears I rented a Noah's ark to get
me across. Now, we are told it is about as credible at the infamous VCD of yet
another Parriker fame.

For a couple of years we were told that Oscar Rebello was Goa's Saviour, having
saved Goa from impending doom. I thought perhaps the second Coming of our Lord
was close at hand. Now, if Soter D'Souza and Rajan Parriker are to be believed
the man is a traitor to the Goan cause and possibly hand-in-glove with the
nefarious Kamat regime.

All that is sound and good and perhaps even believable, but for the fact that a
few months ago, one Dr Anand Virginkar made us believe that Manohar Parriker
was the reincarnation of Vishnu himself. I, ever the superficial hausfrau fell
for Manohar Parriker's incredible good looks and was willing to overlook that
RSS uniform if it meant he would deliver Goa from all evil. Today Rajan
Parriker, the very man that interviewed him tells us he is a shame to Goa.

In the meantime, Wendell Rodrigues, our son-of-the-soil dressmaker to India's
rich and famous says that India is engaged in a systematic genocide of Goans,
perhaps on a scale larger than that in Bosnia itself. I am quivering in my
boots as I think about this but then again Wendell also told us that his model
Goan village will have a Health Clinic and school paid for by the rich in the
village. Mercifully atleast, I won't be contributing to the Health Clinic,
since I am not rich.

Meanwhile the plot thickens as one Hema Sardesai wanted to take to the streets
demanding Special status for Goa. Perhaps fearing that the only ones to follow
her down those lonely Goan streets covered with tears over Rajan's rape video,
might be a dance troupe from Bollywood, Hema now tells us she wants to
undertake a fast unto death. Maybe she meant diet. I don't know.

Totally confused, but atleast I still have that Noah's ark.
