Hallelujah, somewhere in this world the Red Sea must be parting again. George
Pinto and Chris Vaz are in total agreement over something. The extreme Right
and Ultra Left in warm embrace. This is so touching, I dab my eyes delicately
to wipe away the tears.
Goa has about as much chance of surviving without the "bhaile", be it in
investment or labour, as a child abandoned at birth. That too is a reality,
which unfortunately cannot be captured by the camera. All this talk about Goans
being overwhelmed by "bhaile" is utter nonsense. Goans are not the only ones in
India, who are facing problems of rural migration and sky-rocketing land prices
amidst crumbling infrastructures. It is one thing to qualify Goa's problems, it
is quite another to suggest solutions that will completely disable it.
