Re: [Goa Research Net] Tiatr or Tiatro ? Portuguese Teatro, pronounced tiatr in Portuguese, then Konkani and written according to sound as tiatr in Konkani with all the derivatives. In English it is theatre, but the performing art is not the same as tiatr. It has become natok in Konkani too, especially outside Goa. It is das Theater in German, meaning a different art performance. So too in other European languages and cultures. There is only one tiatr in Konkani among Roman Christian bhous, it remains unique cultural form of performance.
