Deepa Dhume, originally hailing from Cumbarjua, had the privilege of posing for a photograph with US President George W. Bush at the Oval Office of the White House at a celebration marking the release of the 2008 Economic Report of the President.

During the meeting, President Bush thanked Deepa Dhume for her contribution to international economic issues.

Deepa has the distinction of working as a Fellow at the White House Council of Economic Advisors. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Economics at the Harvard University.

She is the daughter of Architect Bholanath and Prabha Dhume from New Orleans and the grand-daughter of noted temple historian, late Vinayak Narayan Shenvi Dhume from Cumbarjua ( and the neice of Dr. N.S. Dhume, President of the Goa Su-Raj Party).

The 2008 Economic Report of the President is an annual publication written by the staff of the Council of Economic Advisors (CEA). The CEA provides analysis and advice to the President on a wide variety of domestic and international economic policy issues. The work of the CEA varies on a daily basis, both in terms of content and scope. While at times the staff conducts long-term research to prepare for White House presentations, rapid analysis and response is often requested by White House staff to guide policy preparation of speechwriting on the issues of the day.

Ms. Deepa focused mainly on international economics issues and worked closely with individuals from across the US government, including officials from the National Economic Council, National Security Council, the Department of Treasury and the Department of State.

COMMENTS

Whow!! Deepaji, you have given us, here in GOA a veritable BLAST to burn ourselves in your glory. That you have made it to the Oval Office of the White House is one thing but posing with the 2 term President of the U.S.A. for the world to acknowledge your achievement is another thing altogether. Deepa, you have made us PROUD.
PROUD PROUD.

Come to think of it, we at Goa Su-Raj Party are especially overjoyed since we now have an in-house 'Ecomonist' of International repurte to guide our rather nano- economics of the State of GOA which seems to be growing into the ground rather than showing its head up.

Deepa, you have not only made your parents and youR immediate family friends proud of your achievement, but also you have made your dear UNCLE the proudest of them all who is at the helm of the forward looking Goa Su-Raj Party of GOA, by GOANS for GOANS.

Thank you for this unique treat.
