Mario Miranda Festival
24th/25th/26th July
Old GMC building, Panjim
In conjunction with the landmark retrospective of Mario Miranda's artwork
at the Old G.M.C building in Panjim, a free festival celebrating the great
Goan artist's work will be held at the same venue on the 24th, 25th and 26th
of July. All are welcome.
24th July - Children's Day - presented in conjunction with Bookworm
Children's Library and Activity Centre. (4.30 pm sharp)
All children (up to 15 yrs of age) are invited to a unique interactive
workshop on Mario Miranda's artwork, featuring readings, presentations on
Mario's technique and imagery, and lots of drawing! Participants are
requested to bring their own pencils.
25th - Cartoons, Comics, and Graphic Novels - Mario's medium analyzed (5pm)
All are welcome to an exiting evening of presentations and personal
reminiscences . Three short films on Mario will be followed by a discussion
about the artist and his medium, featuring the first public appearance in
Goa by Amruta Patil, the brilliant young graphic novelist (and Goa Art
college graduate) whose recent comic book (or graphic novel) , 'Kari'
(Harper Collins) has received great national and international acclaim.
26th - A celebration of Mario Miranda - featuring an original play by the
Mustard Seeds Arts Company (5pm)
