I also met Mr. Shrikant Barve while he was coming to take a class on for chess for little children. And I have also witnessed a tournament organised by Taleigao Chess Academy under his leadership side by side various discussions, street play, book exhibition, films show on chess more then 300 primary school students participated in the tournament some are from most are from Goa, some from Maharashtra, and also from West-Bengal, I personally don't think anybody from Goa and also from India can dear to take such events at one single time i.e. on 26 & 27 January 2008 at International Centre Goa, Dona Paula. He has also organise many tournaments specially for children his aim is to bring chess in primary school curriculum. I know his Passion towards chess and his devotion towards chess. I request every one who read this look what a man Mr. Shrikant Barve have done in Goan chess field, and if you find decision of AICF is wrong only then protest the action of AICF, I know true heart person will do it. I think child from most of the prominent schools in Goa will know the name Shirkant Barve as a chessmen. An important noting told to me by Mr. Sanjay Barve on last 3 under 7 chess tournaments they have coundected 1st was on 24th May 2008 for which 16 children took part, 2nd was on 22 June 2008 for which 18 children took part and the 3rd on 20 July 2008 for which 20 children took part and he said that for his surprise for every tournament most of the participating students were different and this is within less than 3 months. He told me that if you go through names of participants for all three tournaments you will find that more than 50 individual participants has participated in the tournaments. Further he added if this is the case then for the last tournament it should be at least 50 participants. Last tournament was held at Mustfund High school, Panaji and for this not a single participant from Mustifund High school, Peoples High School, Sharada Mandir and other most prominent schools from Panaji, not a single from Margao, Vasco, Ponda. Now I want to ask few questions to the AICF Vice-President and GSCA President through your mideum that Who is stopping this students from participating the tournament organised by TCA, just tell me how many other chess clubs have organised such tournaments regularly? Why prominent participants are not participating in tournaments organised by TCA? If somebody stopping them then please find and ask them why they doing so and also ask them who will give chance to play this participants to play with different kinds of players in the tournament? For God sake please stop doing dirty polilics. Politician already rouined our country. Thanks, With regards Sanjay Sawaikar. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- **** http://www.GOANET.org **** --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tri Continental Film Festival 2008 July 25 - 30, 2008 Goa, India http://www.moviesgoa.org/page/tri_continental/ http://www.moviesgoa.org/tricon/schedule_2008.pdf ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
