Dears,
Architect Ritu Prasad, Architect Pravin Sabnis and GBA Secretary, Reboni Saha,
made a forceful power point presentation on the GOA TOWN & COUNTRY PLANNING
[AMENDMENT] ACT, 2008 and how it would bring back Regional Plan 2011 projects
back by the back door in Goa even after the Regional Plan 2021 was notified.
Former Secretary Patricia Pinto, Co-Convener Sabina Martins, Treasurer Annand
Madgavkar, Joint Secretary Miguel Braganza and members Soter D'Souza, Leroy
Veloso, Agnelo Pinto, Shashi Kamat and others were present. So was a contigent
of Press Reporters and TV cameramen. The programmme was held at the TB Cunha
Hall for the people of Goa from all constituencies across the state who wanted
to know about the cyclone of "development" that will hit them after the present
lull.
The Core Group of the GBA met at the same venue for its meeting to consider the
progress in the Regional Plan 2021 at the Task Force. The agreed text of the
Press Note released by the Goa Bachao Abhiyan after a two and a half hour long
meeting is copied below. It covers the essentials .....just like a Common
MINIMUM Programme aka bikini. Enjoy the view in between the lines. ;-)
