Dear Goanet Members, Please allow me to respond to two messages (message No 5, dated Saturday, 2, August 2008 titled Typos and semi-literates! & message No: 6, dated: Sat, 2 Aug 2008 under subject title George Pinto and prostitution) coming from same person.
Anthony M. Barreto writes - Dear Gabe, I would class them as typos which are more due to oversight than lack of knowledge. They are different from illiterate expressions used by people with multiple titles appended to their name but cannot frame a decent sentence in English. I wonder how such people got their doctorates. And how they could be authors with books to their name is a mystery that would beat the biggest names in mystery thrillers. My response: What a surprise! Person with multiple titles appended to his name (Anthony M. Barreto, Alias Tony Martin, English Teacher, Freelance Writer, and Author) writes like this without even realizing that he is pointing figures to himself. In yet another message Anthony M. Barreto writes - Samir you have said it. I agree with you. There's lot of rhetoric flowing from overseas on saving Goa. I think it's just a case of gaining some recognition while in a distant land. I would call it trying to do good or sound good or mean good for goodies. My response: Again a big surprise! The person with multiple titles appended to his names (as indicated above) forgets that he is settle in DUBAI - UAE and is writing to Samir saying that it's just the case of gaining some recognition while in a distant land. Is the writer trying to say THAT DUBAI - UAE IS IN CANACONA? Best regards, Dr. U. G. Barad
