Dears,
Babush Monserrate is back in the Congress-led Government on his own terms.
After swearing in was over, he is reported to have said, "My stand on the IT
Habitat wont change. There is no question of joining Congress." So we now have
an unattached member .... elected on UGDP ticket.... in the Government.
If anyone had doubts about the sincerity of the Digamber Kamat-led Government
of Goa, they must be dispelled.
If Arvind Bhatikar can still call Atanasio Monserrate as "Taliban de Taligao"
that would be courageous.
In the meanwhile, some of the policemen who damaged Babush Monserrate's house
on 19 February, 2008 night may well be put on duty to guard it.
Many a person will find his words coming back to haunt him .... starting
tonight.
Adv. Dayanand Narvekar detractor will rejoice. However, I dare say he was a
better man than many who are left behind in the cabinet.
If the Finance, IT, Law and Judiciary Minister in a year old Government had to
make way for Babush Monserrate the message is clear, no one is forever.
The CM has said he will retain the Finance Ministry. I can imagine the fate of
many if Babush is given the portfolio of Law and Judiciary.
In any case there are bound to be some re-alignments now.
Like it or lump it ..... hats off to Babush.
