Maybe our Goa Damao and Diu youngsters (with the exception of a couple of
hockey players from Canada) did not make it to the Beijing Games.
But a septuagenarian couple from Damao, Jose and Henriqueta Colaco both
residents of Macau are part of a 40 strong Folcore group Danca e Cantares de
Macau taking part in the opening ceremony this Friday. Jose Colaco plays the
Cavaquinho while Henriqueta sings and dances.
Various ethnic groups have been invited to participate in the opening ceremony
which is supposed to be spectacular, let us see what the athletes can do
without the drugs.
