Dear Dr. Barad,

Almost every person who speaks Marathi calls his or her mother as "Aiee".

I have been raised up to show respect to my neighbour's mother by calling her
"Aiee" [or "Ayee" as we spell as per the new Romi orthography developed by Goa
Konkani Academy under Shri Pundalik Naik]

There is more than one Datta Naik and this has been exploted by the BJP to get
letters to the Editor published criticizing the Congress in the name of one
such, much to the embarrassment of Datta Damodar Naik of Monginis, Margao
First, CD Homes, Goa Chamber of Housing Industry and Task Force on RPG 2021.

If the "Aiee" you refer to is Datta Damodar Naik's mother, I do not know her.
However, I do know her son very well [and have met her Engineer grandson] and
would like to condole the death if she is his mother who died.

It is 11.15 in the night and I cannot call up to ask now. Will check up
tomorrow morning. A death is always sad. May her soul rest in peace. May the
good Lord console the bereaved and give them strength to do His will while they
live on this Earth.

Thank you for the intimation.

Mog asundi.
