Before the start of the convention, I wished Toronto Goans the very best of
luck. I felt something momentous was at hand. Well, something momentous did
happen.
Floriano Lobo swore to boycott Eugene from all Goan functions and Eugene swore
never to step foot in Goa if Floriano is elected CM. I don't know which of
these events will happen first but they will certainly be momentous.
If there is a lesson to be learnt here for the next organizers, it is not to
have an open-bar or even a paid bar at the convention. If you must have one,
instruct the bar-tender not to serve Eugene. Hopefully by then, Eugene will
have learnt to use paragraphs in his write-ups, or atleast limit them to 200
words.
My advice to Faleiro is to host the convention in Sweden. There are a couple of
advantages to this. First, Wendell won't have to fly in any models. There are
enough beautiful women in Sweden. Secondly, all that dried, salty fish they
serve tastes just like our bombil. And last but not least, besides Alfred
Tavares, there aren't any Goans there. So it is bound to be a rollicking
success :-)
Now, can we all hold hands and make-up? I can hear Kumbaiya playing in the
background already.
