Sir,

Sub: Special Status for Goa.

The public announcement made by the Opposition Leader Shri. Manohar Parrikar of the Goa Bharatiya Janata Party that the 'BJP' will seek to pass a resolution in the coming Goa Legislative Assembly session to seek 'Special Status for Goa' on the lines that is availed by states like Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, comes as a very welcome and long awaited news.

The Goa Su-Raj Party feels happy that such a realization has dawned on Goa's leading political party when Goa has lost most of its lands and resources since 1961, where Goa should have been accorded this very status after the liberation. Having said that , the Goa Su-Raj Party believes that it is better late than never.

The Goa Su-Raj Party congratulates the Opposition Leader Shri. Manohar Parrikar for thinking like an endangered Goan atlast, who is about to lose everything precious to him with the onslaught that has been taking place on Goa's meager resources.

Goa Su-Raj Party hopes that the Goa BJP will not have second thoughts on this most positive stand it has taken, which stand should be a very good reason for Goans to commence rejoicing, as this happens to be the best news Goa and Goans have received since 1961.

The Goa Su-Raj Party will certainly hold Shri. Manohar Parrikar and the Goa BJP to its 'word' and await for the passing on this unique and sensitive resolution in the House of Goa's Representatives. It is expected that the House will pass this resolution unanimously as there is no reason for any political dispensation wanting to see the good of Goa to oppose this resolution.

Thanking you,

Yours Sincerely,
for Goa Su-Raj Party
