The drop of 10-15% in tourism is not only in Goa. Dubai too has experienced a 
similar drop. This may not have anything to do with the absence of 
infrastructure of which Dubai has plenty.

It is more likely related to the falling spending power of consumers seriously 
impacted by double digit inflation. In the UK and Europe it is compounded by 
the declining housing market and consequently the wealth of potential 
travellers.

If oil prices continue to decline the airlines will be able to offer better air 
fares and the inflation monster may recede allowing business and individuals to 
prosper again.
