Hi, I had written a couple of years ago about these mud slides which happen in Malaysia and the Philippines, that the same will happen in Goa due to deforestation. Well, a few years ago floods did not take place in Goa, therefore the moderators deemed it not fit to mail it on Goanet - now it has happened. The horse has bolted. It is all due to improper planning. Deforestation has to be done properly, some tom dick and harry buying land and plonking a building on a sloppy hill according to his whim and fancy does not help. The town had 40 shops under water till mid night while there was a threat to 250 more.
