Education Minister Mr. Babush Monseratte will now appreciate and value the
need for education. Students drop out for lack of money to buy books and pay
fees but Babush having had all the money in the world did not feel or
visualize the need to invest in his education. Perhaps he did not dream that
one day he would be Goa's Education Minister.

It is interesting to note that while the affidavit sworn on 12th May 2007
with his nomination papers at the last Assembly elections Mr. Monseratte
stated he was an S.S.C from St Theresa's High School, Bandra but the latest
information on the Goa Government website claims that the Education Minister
is a Second Year, Bachelor of Arts.

Assuming that the affidavit is truth, being a mere SSC (basic pre-requisite
to be a clerk) the new Education Minister may not be able to contribute much
to his portfolio academically but he may definitely push for making Sex
education compulsory for students.

As a pilot project he may introduce it in Miramar based schools and colleges
so that he can monitor the progress regularly from the comfort of his nearby
home. His friend the Health Minister who also lives in Miramar may also lend
all the medical support and expertise required to achieve this goal along
their favorite beach.

Whatever they do the two should team up and vow to ensure that the shameful
strains of the infamous Miramar Sex scandal of 2001 never repeats in any
corner of Goa.
