Hi Selma, The word 'tarvotti' mean seamam or sailer. In Konknni, "Tarum' means 'ship', and the person who works on the tarum 'ship' is 'tarvotti.' The word 'tarvotti' has nothing do with the words of any othe language. With luv, Salvador
