WORLD GOA DAY -

Wherever in the world we reside
Our ancestral roots are in Goa, our pride
Reminiscing our culture every opportunity we get
Lest generations that follow might surely forget
Dozens of customs will be lost, on that you can bet
Goans are scattered all over the world
Our traditions and dishes through culture unfold
A day set aside for unity to renew and uphold
Dancing and rejoicing is how we celebrate
Always praying that we enter the golden gate
Youthfulness we sustain whatever our state!
Together we link our old ways and new
Hoping our allegiance to one another will be true
Always doing our best to meet all needs
Neighbours and friends our generosity feeds
Keeping tradition alive, in our hearts and mind
Sewn by seeds of laughter so gentle and kind
Generations have passed this way before
In peace and harmony their souls we let go
Voices we raise as we sing so loudly
In celebration our love we unite very proudly
Nation so valiant we’re not backward to say
Giving thanks to Our Lord on this day we pray
