Hi, Prudent Media boasts that it is the only channel to telecast the proceedings of the Goa Legislative Assembly live.
I wanted to catch up on the action so I tuned in today afternoon. The Home Minister was being grilled by the opposition. During the debate in question, there was an issue regarding beggars. It was maintained by MLAs that beggars are not local Goans but what *they* termed in Konkani "bhaile", their argument being that thanks to Dayanand Nidhi Yojana (DNY - Have I got that right?), all indigent locals were provided with a pension of Rs. 1000/- so had no need to beg. Be that as it may, I saw the Siolim MLA in full swing taking pot shots at the Government. At this I was puzzled. I had an impression that both the Siolim MLA Mandrekar and the Mandrem MLA Parsekar were disqualified for electoral offenses. If so, can they participate in Assembly debates?. Can some one clarify this? Regarding the telecast it self, I felt the quality was poor. This could be a problem with my service provider Rohit Vision, but I'm not sure.
