Dears,
Wilson Mazarello aka Wilmix of the Wilmix-Sharon duo fame is the Convener of
the Romi Lipi Action Front and Past President of the Dalgado Konkani Academy
besides being the founder Director of the Tiatr group TACT and a Tiatr
personality of good repute.
Perhaps, an error of judgement was associating along with Prince Jacob in the
Save Goa Front as history has shown again that politicians belie our hopes by
claiming to champion our aspirations. Churchill Alemao was the then champion of
Konkani in Roman script as Dr. Wilfred de Souza was in 2006 but not on election
eve of June 2007. Presently, the Aam Admi Sarkar of Digamber Kamat is doing
just that. So is Manohar Parrikar who raised the issue in the Goa Legislative
Assembly on 18 August, 2008, in his individual capacity.
It is believed that each one has learnt his lessons. The movement to popularise
KONKANI, without any chauvinism of dialect and script, is the need of the hour.
There must be more books written and read; there must be more programmes
presented and attended, there must be more Konkani spoken and heard ...then
only will the language develop. Otherwise, it will be like the message in Dr.
Manohar Rai Sardessai's poem "Otthra Jun"
"Kitle aile, gele
Otthra June?
Ambea mullant kuddkuddtta
Gavddeacho por ozun!"
It is time for each one of us to make a difference.
Konkani uloy, Konkani boroy, Konkanint jivit choloy!
Mog asundi.

"Mogall Goykarano",
Today, our mother tongue "Konkani" is at the "cross-roads" not knowing who
is pulling her in which direction and we, her children, are not making it
any easier for her.
Very few of us understand, that we are what we are, because of our
mother-tongue Konkani. You take away Konkani, and there's nothing left in us to
be called Goans. What is Goan identity without Konkani ?
Can Goan culture even exist without Konkani ? Konkani is the "basis" for
everything that can be called "Goan".
It is also, the prime "uniting force" for Goans in Goa and Goans all over
the Globe. However, this same "uniting force" has been made a "dividing force",
by our politicians. And we, the people of Goa, have consciously or
sub-consciously, become a "party" to their sinister designs?
If these questions mean anything to us, then lets be a part of the GLOBAL
GOAN KONKANI FORUM, and work together, for "finding solutions".We will be
working TOGETHER for a better Goan community.*
Rene Barretto has taken the "first" step.I am taking the "second".Who is taking
the third?
MOG ASSUM DHI.
