Dont know about Delhi, but in Bangalore a button cell (It was some foreign
make) cost Rs. 10/-, while the same one cost Rs. 30/- in Margao. This was
about a year back.

I believe there may be a great profit to be made by just getting stuff from
Bangalore and Mumbai and selling in Goa. In fact, that is what the migrant
vendors do.

Albert replies:- No one knows exactly what is the cost of items. The MRP that
is mentioned on some items is max retail price and most of the shopkeepers
charge that price. Actually one cannot go beyond that price. Imagine TV Fridges
Microwaves sold in Goa but nowhere the price list is displayed. The price list
is not even available on the net. The govt should make it mandatory to have the
list published on the net. Once I wanted to know the exact price of TV. I tried
on the net. I got the website but not the price. I sent them email and they did
not reply. So I visited at least four dealers and found that all had same
price. I bargained one thousand less at one point. He agreed to give me five
hundred less. I pulled a fast one. Told the dealer that another dealer is
offering me one thousnd less. He fell into the trap and gave me one thousand
less. so imagine what it is .But many times only one dealear has the monopoly
and so bargaining is out of question. Many times duplicate items are sold in
the market.
