<There is absolutely no problem if both airports operate, but do you earnestlybelieve that two airports are viable for Goa ? - No, my friend two airports areNOT VIABLE for Goa in the long run,>
Freddy, I would suggest that the word "viable" applies to only one of the two airports -- Mopa. The right word for the Dabolim civil enclave is "vulnerable". I am sure you will agree based on your own view in the post. The interesting thing is that Dabolim's vulnerability increases with the boosting of Mopa's viability. But if Dabolim's vulnerability is ameliorated then Mopa can be made more viable. That is why I keep insisting that Mopa must start small and grow gradually and systematically. Maximum attention has to be paid to Dabolim's vulnerability. Mopa's viability is linked to that and has to be carefully calibrated. Prima facie, our government's manifest ineptness does not inspire confidence that this will happen. So your hunch about the feasibility of a two airport system may well be right. But it would be pathbreaking and for that reason well worth the effort. Cheers.
