Dear Mr.Carneiro,
Dev boro dis dium!
It is indeed a privilege to wish you and your stupendous Team for the great
work that you have been doing - Connecting Goans.
I join my family in wishing you the Best in your future endeavours to keep the
diminishing tribe of Goans connected. By 'Goans'. I do not mean those who have
come and bought flats & houses here, but those individuals who genuinely carry
on the ethos of the Goan Culture of sincerity, honesty, and most importantly
warm feelings of well being about another human being. Though simply to pen,
its extremely difficult for any individual to live by these facets. This is
what makes us GOANS different.
I must commend your Team for touring me and taking me to my younger days by
hosting the photos of a "Caminhao" or "Carreira". It is my proud privilege to
inform you that our family tree has its roots for the last eighteen (18)
recorded generations in Goa. I feel proud about my heritage, and it does not
matter to which regime or rule it is credited to. I seek liberty to request you
to create a seperate section for images and short / brief information about the
various Goan landmarks and their reason for existence.
As the adage goes, 'you can't make old horses do new tricks'; so also it is
difficult (not impossible) to try & convince the older generation. Please
target the school children with such exiting stories about Goa and
recollections by Goan elders and push them into forcing their parents to take
them to these places. Let them feel Goa, rather then bark around about being a
"NIZ GOENKAR", and not knowing anything about Goa.
I am proud to personally know Frederick Noronha and am amazed at his ability to
put forth his comments, ideas and images about Goa & its issues. The articles
by your other correspondents / colleagues and mind blowing too. Please accept &
convey my compliments to all of them and Keep up the good work"
Dev borem korum!

Subject: [Goanet-News] Goanet's 14th Anniversary -- August 25, 2008
Dear Goanetters,
Another year has flown by and today is Goanet's 14th anniversary. I'd like
to thank each and every one of you for your continued support in making
this possible.
We owe a great deal of thanks to our dedicated volunteers who put in a lot
of work behind the scenes. They are:
Frederick 'FN' Noronha (Goa, India)
Bosco D'Mello (Toronto, Canada)
Viviana Coelho (San Francisco, USA)
Christina Pinto (Australia)
Avelino D'Souza (Kuwait)
Two of our volunteers deserve special mention. Frederick Noronha and
Bosco D'Mello have been the pillars of Goanet. They have both gone way
beyond their call of duty.
Many thanks to those of you who support Goanet through volunteering,
making donations, promoting Goanet at events or on your websites, and
contributing to discussions on Goanet.
Goanet needs your support to grow. We will need you this year more than
ever as we expand our services. We will need your donations and time
volunteering more than anything. I hope that you will rise to the task
when the time comes.
Goanet is a non-profit organization that provides a free and valuable
service to the community. If you benefit from the service we provide think
about your part in supporting us to make this possible. Make a donation to
Goanet regularly, no matter how small. Each little bit helps us with
maintenance costs. It's easy, just go to the Goanet homepage and click on
the button "Make a Donation".
Thank you all for your continued support. We hope you enjoy Goanet and
that you will continue your support for us.
Viva Goa!
