Asian Under 11 Gold medallist Cyrus Perreira has a chance to finish with the third place and if so, he will be representing India in both the World and Asian Youth Chess Championships to be played next year.

With one round to go, FIDE Master Girish Kaushik has already wrapped up the title with 9 and a half points. In second place is Vaibhav Suri with 8 and a half points. There are 10 players tied with 7 and a half points in third place and Cyrus requires a win as well as a draw or a loss for Maharashtra's Shardul Gagare if he has to go ahead and clinch the third spot.

Cyrus plays Akshay Bharadwaj whereas Shardul plays M. Satvik a former Asian Bronze Medallist from Karnataka. Goans will be keeping their fingers crossed so that Cyrus can make it to the Indian team in an exciting finish to the National Under 11 Championships underway in Ahmedabad.
