Thanks, I accept that you did not mean that for doctors in general. Besides, the abysmal state of the Goa Health care facilities (of late) having been noted (from personal experience and from what Rajan Parrikar has clearly stated), Goa has many really good and caring doctors.
I would two caveats to what you have written below: 1: There can be a separate place of worship within the hospital/health centre confines - as long as it does not impinge upon patient space. 2: The story as told by the Herald is wholly accurate. It possibly is, but it may not be. The duty of the citizenry and the newspaper is to challenge all the facets of the story. If any facts need correction - they should be corrected. The anger at the loss of a child notwithstanding, we should take the doctors to task ONLY on verifiable facts. Did it happen the way it happened, is the question I would ask. There are a couple of sentences in the Herald story which made me squirm at our journos: [A] " ....Dessai claimed to have brought to the hospital at 11 am. HE WAS WELL .... If "he was well" .....why was he brought to hospital? [B] "....Dr. Kaisare said: When I checked the child, the pulse was not felt. Medicine was immediately administered to him.." What medicine was administered? Was he breathing at the time? if not was any attempt made to administer CPR to him? If it was considered too late, why was the medicine administered? As I noted earlier ...there are many holes in the Herald story. They need to be plugged before you can give anyone a "hard one". jc 2008/8/31 JoeGoaUk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> You are right, it has nothing to do with the ongoing topic on goanet, I only used the subjectline without reading the present or the past posters on the subject. Nor I intended to target any specific religion. It could be any doctor from any other religion. Religious duties such as pooja, ladin etc should only be done at home or at religious places and not at work place, definitely not at hospital. And as for the last line, by saying ' shame on you doctors, more educated are the worst' I was only referring to Chicalim hospital doctors and not doctors in general. I even said the Doctors (at Chicalim hospital) deserve a real hard one.
