Dears, One does not become a Good Hindu or a Good Catholic or a Good Human being (for that matter) by merely conducting Puja or attending Sunday Mass.
The real question here is: Are these Chicalim Health Centre folks Safe Doctors? I put this to your attention before I turn to Point # 2. You may decide. (ALL this is based on the newspaper story as quoted. I do not have all the facts of this case. But here it goes - assuming that the story as told, is wholly accurate) POINT # 1 a: Is the doctor (Suhas Gaitonde) who condones/facilitates an area of the ward being converted into a worship area while patients are sharing beds, a safe doctor? b: Is the doctor (Suhas Gaitonde) who leaves 40 patients to be seen by one doctor (Brenda Pinto) while he is preparing for a Puja, a safe doctor? c: Is the doctor (Preeti Kaisare) who shrugs off responsibility by saying that the (solitary) Medical Officer is expected to see ALL (40) patients (perhaps simultaneously), a safe doctor? IF you have come to the conclusion that the above two are safe doctors, you should recommend a doubling of their salary. IF you have come to the conclusion that the above two are NOT safe doctors, you should recommend them to be struck off the medical register and consequently, off the employment register. IF you have come to the conclusion that the above two are NOT safe doctors, and yet, you do NOT recommend them to be struck off the medical register and consequently, off the employment register .....Give yourself a raise in salary. POINT # 2 IF any of the above named doctors (Gaitonde and Kaisare) were responsible for the organisation and delivery of healthcare to the patients at the clinic, they should face two charges (I know ...the court process is what it is ....but even so) 1: CIVIL CHARGES for Clinical Negligence 2: CRIMINAL CHARGES for Manslaughter. (or equivalent in IPC) BTW: joegoauk is quite inappropriate by stating: "Shame on you Doctors! More educated are the worst" What does he mean by the word "YOU" in the above sentence.
