I am told in private that there were many sea-faring Hindus. Some sailed in dhows from Gujarat to Africa and in colloquial Swahili were called "badalas". So there is indeed a sea-faring history among Goa Hindus as well and the popularly held notion that Hindus are averse to traveling abroad is not entirely true. Anyone to shed more light?
