UP Kamath is surely making assumptions i.e. that Colaco provided any analysis in his post or that he was looking for an apology. Far from it. Colaco was only looking for answers.
I agree fully with Kamath wrt # 5 infra. I am pretty shocked to read from Kamath that the Saraswats were crooked and cruel. I had not heard that from Saraswat sites. About 'advertising in names', I do not know why some people would advertise ;bad stuff' in their names. May be ...it is easier to revise the bad stuff and make it look like distinguished stuff than it is to go through the bother of changing names - especially as names stick. But then, I wonder - what is the explanation for Indian surnames like:Kalia, Langda and Chutia or in other surnames like Small, Black, Short, Crook? In a way, I can understand the surname Mahalingam but not the above. I would be interested in your point # 6 - and have NO clue as to what you meant to say in point #7 jc == 2008/9/11 U P Kamath <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 1: There are some pretty big holes in Colacos analysis. 2: They were government officials just like the present - corrupt and crooked as always they shall be. 3. Even if Nadakarnis were crooked, why would they advertise it in their name? 4. Colaco, try however hard, you wont get any apology for misdeeds of my Saraswat forefathers. I may agree to their crookedness or cruelty. One thing you wont get from me is apology for their deeds or guilt. 5. I am accountable only for my deeds and actions. 6. It could be possible to prove logically that Khazana lands of Goa were developed by outsiders (not necessorily saraswats)- not original inhabitants of Goa, by possibly employing locals, by payment or by coercions - 7. Simply because the very project was stupid and makes very little economic sense.
