Violence continues both in Orissa and Karnataka while the victims of the bomb
blasts and their relatives are coming to terms with the untold misery. The
State Governments of both Orissa and Karnataka have failed to preserve the life
and property of the minorities. We have lost faith in both the state
governments .We urge stronger action from the Central Government to reign in
the fundamentalist elements.

Somewhere this needs to stop. As a mark of solidarity and work towards
communal harmony, The Bombay Catholic Sabha along with several other
organisations has organised a PEACE / PRAYER MARCH to conclude with a PUBLIC
RALLY as per details above.

Bishops Bosco Penha, Bishop Agnelo Gracias and Bishop Percival Fernandez,
Auxiliary Bishops of Bombay will lead the march at 6.00p.m. from Mahim
Station. Among the other dignitaries expected to participate and speak at the
rally are:

-Prof. Farida Lambay- Vice Principal - Nirmala Niketan College of Social Work
-Prof Dr. Ram Puniyani- Communal Amity
-Mr Javed Anand - Gen Secretary Muslims for Secular Democracy and Co-Editor
Communalism Combat
-Mr. Sami Bubera- Chairman - World Peace Council, India
-Mr. Kapil Patil- President Shikshak Bharati and Member of Legislative Council
-Mr.Nozer Balsara -Member of Jury Parsi Chief Matrimonial Court

Our course of action to preserve communal amity will be announced.

PUBLIC MEETING ON COMMUNAL HARMONY AND PEACE ON FRIDAY 19 AT 6.00 P.M.

Please forward to all citizens of Mumbai

We watch with pain the events unfolding in our beloved country which is
torn apart by different types of terrorists.

One type which uses religion to kill, terrorise and humiliate one section
of society and thus polarise society for electoral gains.

The other type which uses weapons of mass destruction to kill innocent
people without any remorse.

Both types of groups are terrorists of the worst kind.

We need to work towards preserving the unity and multi diversity of our
nation. We need to work in unity to build communal harmony.

We raise our hearts in prayer but our voices in protest for

      ORISSA
