Security beefed up at railway stations in Goa Panaji, Sept 22 (PTI) Security has been beefed up across all railway stations in Goa following a tip off received by the state police that an explosive-laden train will be arriving here this morning, police said. The state police had received information from Kerala police about the consignment of explosives loaded on the train, which will be reaching Goa this morning.
"Police team will be boarding the Marusagar Express at Karwar (Karnataka) where the entire train would be checked," Superintendent of Police Atmaram Deshpande, who heads Special Cell told PTI. Teams of police personnel have been deployed at various railway stations in the state to avoid any untoward incident. The train, bound for Jaipur, left Ernakulam at 7 pm and will reach Goa at 10 am. "Konkan railway are checking all the passengers boarding the train," Konkan Railway Corporation (KRC) Public Relations Manager, Baban Ghatge said. Deshpande said as the train stops at Thivim and Margao railway station, the police teams have kept an eye at these two spots. Meanwhile, Goa police have denied receiving any inputs from Delhi police that the state is next on the target of the terrorists arrested in connection with Delhi blasts.
