Nostalgia Pic #14: _____________ 1968 - 2008: then and now: Emiliano Da Cruz, noted Goan violinist, captured in 2 poses over 4 decades.
Along with Tony Alvares, Tony Godinho, Raymond D'Souza and Billy Boy, Emiliano formed the popular "Gay Caballeros" pop group (before the term became alternative/definitive), in the mid - 60's, to such popular acclaim, that they even had an Annual Nite. Specialising in Latin-American soft-rock, such was Emiliano's talent that he also won a prize at the annual Mando Festival for his composition "Eklem Sandlem Maka Tuvem" (words by Jess Fernandes). After extended stints all over India, particularly Mumbai, Emiliano is now Goa-based, where he makes music with varied ensembles, particularly his own trio. Not so well known is the fact that noted S. Goa composer/arranger and producer Agostinho da Cruz, is his brother, the family hailing from Curtorim! http://2008goanconvention.com/nostalgia.php FR. _________________________________________________________________
