Reference Mario's statement above....it should be established by now, that operation on the basis of rumour is really the Hindu right wing's modus operandi. They are the kinds that spread all sort of vicious rumours that lead to killing and death. It was a rumour that started the Godhra incident, it was a rumour that Muslims from outside the state were coming in with knives that fueled the planned violence in Sanvordem, it was a rumour that a muslim was eve-teasing that sent off tensions in gandhi bazaar in Margao. Similarly, these types also operate without any need for a relation between fact and fiction. The out of context statements of a pastor in AP are deemed sufficient cause to attack churches in Karnataka. They even insist that conversions take place, when they dont, and when they do believe that it was through coercion... who is using rumour exactly?
