Two or three years ago i had the pleasure to assist to a meeting about this
subject and it end up being a very interresting afternoon.
It was a polemic subject at the time and as far as i can see, still is.
As a goan outsider lover, not involved in the real nets behind this polemic,
without cultural or political ties, i can't see what konkani as to loose to
be wroten in other script too. Its adding something to the language, not
taking. Doesn t meen that Devnagari will be less used, or that it shoudnt be
well teached as main script. It only will open the konkani doors to other
people that would love to learn it and, as iu know, to learn a language you
obviosly need to know the wrigting and nor only the speaking. It will give a
chance to konkani breake some borthers and have a flurry of fresh air.
