It is believed that for centuries and prior to the arrival of neo colonial rule in Goa, Goans lived in peace. Post 61 saw the early signs of sectarianism via the implementation of fake democracy. This was further propagated by the daughter of the first so called chief minister. While attending an assembly session somewhere in 1979 a chap by the name Ramakant Khalap MLA from Dicholi made some vile threat against Goan Catholics - But this was all meagre hot air.
In the 80's Goa saw the weakening of the home grown political field and the arrival of colonial parties such as the Janata Dal which caught the attention of the Boca da Vaca chaps. Then one saw the birth of the BJP and the umbrella of extreme factions such as the Sang Parivar, and Bajrang Dal. Today the actions of the BJP and its umbrella is institutionalised dadagiri. Bharat has a constitution and in it there are some para's on secular blah, blah. But the silence of its executors is frightening. More shameful is the action of USA who is supposed to be the world leader has recently signed a nuclear deal with this fascist country and no condemnation from its leaders on Christian atrocities. The US is also home to fascist groups such as the VHP and Permanently Head Damaged people who spew venom in the sub continent. Hundreds have been killed and maimed in this unholy war, when is Goa's turn and are we ready to face this threat? As for conversion, I have been a victim of Hare Rama conversion attempts. Hindu temples are flourishing in Portugal. Hindu religion followers say that they are happy to live in Portugal and do not face any threat like Christians face in this fascist country called India.
