Article 49-O of Constitution gives Indians  the Right to not vote 

 
Elections are to be held in every State and Union Territories of India soon or 
later.... if fact there is one election held somewhere in one of the 650,000+ 
villages and towns/cities.
 
But are you aware of a power that lies with the citizens to reject a candidate 
in an election..
 




Did you know that there is a provision in the Constitution of India, as per the 
Conduct of Elections Rules, 1969 Act, in Section 49-O that a person can go to 
the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked, and convey to 
the presiding election officer that he/she doesn’t want to vote for anyone! 
Yes, such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly notorious 
leaders have never disclosed it. It is called "49-O".
