Freddy has said it like it is. It is a point made by Ganv Ghor Rakhonn Manch
[GGRM]at the massive rally in Panaji on Monday 06 October ....after the Goa
Government advanced the Id holiday from 03 Oct. to 01 Oct, the original date of
the rally after the threatened bus strike did not work out.
The attempt of one 24-hour private TV channel to whip up communal feeling by
emphasizing that the crowd for the September 16 "Communal Harmony" rally at
Azad Maidan was mostly Catholic, and ostensibly motivating the other
communities to join in, also did not work. The script debate has also remained
non-communal. With catholic priests leading the Catholics for Devanagri [CFD]
and Goa's oldest surviving coloured magazine in Roman script promoting its
cause while a Hindu heads the pro-Roman script Akademi, where is the case of
communal divide between the scripts? Add to that the revelation ...and
admission .... that Shenoi Goembab's initial books were written in Roman script
and one has the pro-Devanagri icon becoming one of half a dozen dual script
user icons like Msgr. Sebastiao Rodolfo Dalgado, Dr. Manohar Rai Sardesai,
Nagesh Karmali, Adv. Uday Bhembre, Pundalik Naik, S.M. Borges. There are others
who can read and write in three or more scripts like
Dr. Pratap Naik SJ, Dr. Mathew Almeida SJ and Shri Suresh Gundu Amoncar.
So now they are raking up issues like desecration of a wayside shrine in the
hot-blooded village of Cuncolim ...on Dusshera day. Good timing to whip up
mischief.
The Draft Regional Framework Plan 2021 notification should be in the Official
Gazette today, Friday 10 October, 2008. You bet the politicians will keep on
trying the communal card to keep the Goan people distracted from the issues.

He said in order to raise proper awareness on nature of mega projects; the
government will issue a circular to all the village panchayats, clarifying the
same.
Mr Godinho informed that a sewage system, at joggers park are in the pipeline.
He said improved roads,efficient water and electricity supply will be given
greater attention.
