Why shame? What is shame? Is this word in the Goan / Indian dictionary in
recent times? Times have changed, the word was deleted some years after
liberation and Independence. Shame is a state of dishonour. But where honour?
That word too is deleted. New norms have come in place. If you go to the police
to complain of assault by someone, you are put behind bars so no one can
assault you except them. If you complain of theft, “Why you want to file a
complaint? You will have to spend next 5 years in Court.” If you find a dead
body, in all probabilities you will be inside as the prime suspect. So is
labelling a murder as accidental death something aberrant? The dead do not
speak. Blame the dead or their relatives for what has happened. Did you not
read the statement of the assaulters of the Australian tourist John Kelly? Any
Goans among them? So monetary demands can be made and everything is fixed.
Internal injuries were caused by John himself falling on chairs and speakers.

Have you not heard recently of items from the duty free shop at Dabolim airport
being stolen? Have you not heard of one at Vasco who makes lewd gestures and
exhibits to school children near schools. Have you not heard recently in the
news of “Fake cops” preying on the elderly citizens for their jewellery? The
days for genuine government, administrators, police, etc. are all bygone days.
