I think it is time we set aside our petty differences and speak with a common
voice. If conservatives like us cant agree in public,....

You must belong to the same school of conservatism as Saddam Hussain, since I
see you are still ruing his demise:-))
>
I'm afraid I cannot speak with you with a common voice unless you can set aside
your petty penchant for twisting the facts and putting a political spin on them
so as to make them unrecognizable, as you have done once again in this post.
>
To begin with the federal deficit as a percentage of GDP DECREASED from 3.5% in
2001 to 1.9% in 2006, and is expected to rise to the 4% range in the near
future. None of this is out of line with either historical levels or the
ability of the US to deal with it, especially with a technological revolution
in energy self sufficiency right around the corner.
>
You are also apparently far too intellectually disconnected or lazy to
differentiate between receipts and disbursements in the federal budget, where
you would see that receipts skyrocketed after the massive Bush 43 inspired tax
rate cuts in the early 2000's. Unfortunately, he did not use his veto powers
to curb wasteful spending which skyrocketed even more.
>
However, just in case you have been keeping Rip Van Winkel company during the
last week or so, the US is still the Go TO currency for the entire world.

You clearly hate Muslims as demonstrated by your opposition to military action
to liberate millions of Muslims.
>
I do not hate anyone, including Goanetters with questionable agendas, as
demonstrated by a) my support for the liberation of millions of Muslims in
Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq, b) my opposition to mob violence and the
breakdown of civilized norms of behavior in India, regardless of who engages in
violence, including any lawlessness involved in coerced conversions by radical
Christians, and c) my always patient and rational responses to even the most
absurd and factless propositions on Goanet, as I am demonstrating right now:-))

Democracy and freedom: Democratic Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Palestine,
N.Korea off the terror list (the hundreds of missing Japanese and S.Koreans and
thousands of imprisoned N.Koreans don't count). Iraq is another great success
story, so much so that over 2 million Iraqies have left to spread the good news
to other regions. Last but not least freedom for the terrorists in Pakistan to
do what they please, such as the killing of hundreds of Americans (only the bad
ones) in Afghanistan.

To begin with, any so-called democracy that does not include a written Bill of
Rights that protects every citizen in a country, and has an independent
judiciary to enforce those rights, is nothing but the anarchy of the majority
and an illusion of true freedom and democracy. That's what you see in Lebanon
and Gaza. Obviously you don't have a clue about what a real democracy is.
>
Secondly, by taking N. Korea off the list of terrorist states in return for the
verifiable dismantling of their nuclear ambitions, the US is leading, with help
from N. Korea's neighbors, China, Japan and S. Korea, an alternative method
from what was used in Iraq to bring N. Korea into the modern civilized world,
step by step. Any other approach would have had an even lower probablilty of
addressing your phony and contrived concern for the missing Japanese, and S.
and N. Koreans.

Iraq is definitely a success story in the context of its history of brutal
dictatorship and oppression of the Kurds and Shia. With Al Qaeda virtually run
out of Iraq, it is now an evolving democracy where there had been none before,
moving slowly but surely towards peace and prosperity, opposed only by a
dwindling number of radical Islamists, the entire left wing worldwide, and
people like yourself with pretensions of intellectual superiority:-))

As usual, I am way ahead of you. I have already done so, but, unlike you, I
have used facts to arrive at reasonable conclusions:
