If you have the money, power and position you can find the muscle even in the gutters. If you analyze this case, although any one could have done it, the two major suspects are, the mining lobby, who wouldn't dare do a thing like this without any support form the politicians and the other "The Don" Babush Monsarrete him with all the power, position and money, the common factor is "politicians". I know I would be wrong to blame it on Babush, but who else could fit the bill of "prime" suspect ? Aires being a firebrand activists and a lawyer, I dare say, had admirers all around, but the major question is, who would have the "ba-s" to do it and that too in public. Aries was definitely a pain in the back side for the mining barons, the land sharks, the builders and definitely not admired by "The Don" Babush Monsarrete our very own Education Minister. He was surely the biggest thorn poking in his eyes every time he blinked, be it the Taleigao Gram Sabha, be it the mega housing in his areas, hill cutting or the IT Habitat at Dona Paul, the attack on police station, the affidavit issue or the latest "SMS" issue, Aires was there all along, and he had been abused a number of time even physically by the goons of "The Don" on earlier occasions. Regarding the "SMS" issue I can say just one thing "Bap sher hai to beta sava sher nikla" A person who can, not only get away with the attack on a Police station in the heart of the Capital and in broad day light and become a Minister, knows he can get away with any thing even attempted murder or murder, the law is only for the Aam Aadmi. When the elected elite themselves are corrupt and support large scale corruption and violence, what can we except from the system, in situations like this the system become spineless, the police are paid to look the other side and if they don't, then, of course transferred to Godforsaken or troubled places. The Canacona land issue where in the Health and the Education Minister were involved, what's being done about it ? The disappearance of Cummuldade land and records ? The number of attacks on Seby, "the Naxalite" and other environmental and social activists, the Gram Sabha resolutions all over Goa, what's being done about those ? Police harassing bus load of people, who are behind all this ? Murder cases being closed, as natural deaths, drug peddlers and pimps selling their products on the open beaches. Truck loads of swords and other dangerous materials brought in to Goa and no action taken, because they belong to the "vote bank", robberies and rapes are everyday happenings, people who attack police stations are made ministers. People with history of wrong doings are given tickets for elections. Why nothing has been done ? Our elected politicians, themselves patronize and support lawlessness for their own benefit. To wrap it all "Ask not what the politicians can do for you but what you can do for the politicians." Who elect all these politicians ? WE DO !!!! Lawless in Goa is the direct result of the lawless and shameless (elected) Goan Politicians. Wish Aires and Prajal a quick recovery and health and energy to fight for the right.
