We the citizens of Goa strongly strongly condemn the brutal attack on Social Activists Adv. Aires Rodrigues and Prof. Prajal Sakhardande and demand that the concerned Authorities ensure that the culprits are apprehended immediately and severly punished.
We view this dastardly act with serious concern as this is obviously a part of the disturbing trend emerging in the state which threatens to silence the people's voices and stop Social Activism in Goa. This goes totally against the essence of the Constitutional rights of every citizen and we therefore *demand a judicial inquiry* to investigate in depth into this incident in order to put an end to this emerging trend of violence in Goa. This is vital to protect the right of freedom and expression of speech guaranteed by the constitution of India to every citizen of the country and we impress upon the Government the need to take immediate steps to reassure the citizens that their basic rights, safety and freedom will be safeguarded by the law enforcing authorities. We therefore call upon all citizens to come together and express their sentiments and pressurize the Government to ensure Justice in the face of this act of intimidation and violence which is a dangerous precedent for Goa.
