Dear Ms. Mukherji,

Your article has been forwarded to me by a friend. You have evidently
made a thorough study of the ongoing crisis.

However, I would like to point out as follows :

1. If the Kandhas felt that they were suffering and were losing their
property and rights, there are legal ways to resolve this issue.
There is no excuse to resort to violence.
2. Some Christian radical sects may be resorting to conversion but
one cannot assume all Christian sects are the same and punish all the
Christians. For instance, Rajni Mahsi, the poor girl who was burnt to
death, was a Hindu working in an orphanage run by Christians.
3. If Christian groups are receiving support from the West, I
understand so are radicals from other religions.
4. The Maoists have twice claimed responsibility for the murders of
the Swamiji and the others. Why are Christians then being blamed
without any proper investigation? I always thought that in a
democratic set up, guilt cannot be assumed. It has to be proved. Why
are Christians being mercilessly killed and hunted like animals?
5. Tension in this region may have been going on for some time but
why have tensions escalated to such an extent? Surely some radical
groups are inciting the flames?
