Dear Friends

With deep regrets I convey to you the passing away of our beloved Fr. Moraes. He was the First Asian Chaplain in London from 1980 to 1991, which today is known as the Goan Chaplaincy. We owe a lot to him as he had been a source of support and strength to many of our fellow Asians during those difficult times.

As we thank and praise God for his gift to us, we pray for the repose of his soul and convey our heartfelt sympathies to his family. May his soul rest in peace!

The funeral of the late Fr. Arthur Moraes will taken place on Friday 24th October 2008 at 12 noon at St. Anselm's Church, Tooting Bec Road, London SW17 8ES. The burial will be at Putney Vale Cemetery at 2.30 pm. The funeral wake is to be held to celebrate his life at St Anslem's Church Lower Hall.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate Mass intentions for the repose of his soul or donations to be made to go towards 'Daddy's Home for Disabled Children in Margao'.

A collection basket at the back of the church will be made available on the day of the funeral.

Please pass on this message to our fellow Goans and Asians who know Fr. Moraes so that we all can join in the Eucharist to praise and thank the Almighty God and pray for his soul.

Thank you and God bless you.

Fr. Francis J Rosario. SFX.
