YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SAINTS, LOOK FOR THEM IN HEAVEN, NOT HERE ON EARTH. MORE
WRONGS ARE DONE WITH GOOD INTENSIONS AT HEART IN THE ABSENCE OF A SET
PROCEDURAL SYSTEM TO GUIDE AND MONITOR THE ACTIONS.
VOTE FOR A WRITTEN DOWN PARTY PROGRAMME DETAILING ITS POLICY MATTERS ON
EVERY IMPORTANT AND CRUCIAL SUBJECT. ORAL PROMISES OR ONE PAGE ELECTION-TIME
'MANIFESTOS' ARE KNOWN TO VANISH IN THIN AIR AFTER THE ELECTION RESULTS ARE
DECLARED.
AT NO TIME PUT YOUR TRUST IN AN INDEPENDENT, UN-ATTACHED TO ANY SET
COLLECTIVE IDEOLOGY - CANDIDATES. THEY ARE FLY BY NIGHT OPERATORS EVEN IF
THESE PERSONS ARE CONSIDERED GOOD PERSONS. THEY HAVE NO ONE TO ACCOUNT FOR
ONCE ELECTED AND THEY CAN BE DANGEROUS BECAUSE THEY CAN SWING TO ANY SIDE,
EITHER OF THEIR OWN ACCORD OR UNDER EXTERNAL PRESSURES. A PERSON ALWAYS BUT
ALWAYS HAS A PRICE. AND THE QUANTUM OF THAT PRICE WILL DIFFER FROM PERSON
TO PERSON.
LET YOUR CANDIDATE BE THE KITE FLYING HIGH WITH THE CONTROLLING STRING
FIRMLY IN THE HANDS OF THE KITE FLYER (THE CONSTITUENTS IN THIS CASE).
LETTING GO OF THE CONTROLLING STRING, THE KITE WILL DETERMINE ITS OWN SHORT
FLIGHT PATTERN AND IT'S LANDING PLACE WILL BE A QUESTION MARK.
CHOOSE POLITICS WHICH RESPECTS THE 'PUBLIC EXCHEQUER' WHICH IS NOTHING BUT
YOUR TAX MONEY. BAD POLITICS IS SYNONYMOUS TO A 'PUNCTURED AT WILL' BARREL
FILLING UP FROM A PUBLIC TAP. YOUR TAX MONEY IS FLOWING OUT PREMATURELY,
MOSTLY UNACCOUNTED FOR, INSTEAD OF OVERFLOWING AND SATISFYING THE NEEDS OF
THE PEOPLE FROM THE OVERFLOW WITH THE FILLED TO THE BRIM BARREL REMAINING
ALWAYS IN RESERVE TO BE DIPPED INTO AT ANY TIME FOR EXIGENCIES.
IDENTITY AND OUT-SOURCE CARRIER POLITICIANS WHO DEPEND ON POLITICS AS A
SOURCE OF HIS/HER EARNINGS. REAL POLITICIANS ARE PERSONS WHO HAVE

DISCARD THE WINNABILITY CRITERION OF A CANDIDATE. IF YOU ALLOW THE
CANDIDATE TO WIN ON HIS/HER OWN MERIT, YOU HAVE LOST THE GAME. YOU MUST
VOLUNTEER TO DIP INTO YOUR OWN POCKET TO FINANCE THE ELECTION OF YOUR
CANDIDATE IF YOU WANT TO BUY YOURSELF INTO THE 'GOOD GOVERNANCE' GAME YOU
DESIRE. YOU GET NOTHING FOR ELECTING A SELF-MADE, SELF-CENTERED POLITICIAN
LOOK FOR THE INGREDIENT OF SELF-SACRIFICE IN YOUR FAVORITE PARTY'S
PROGRAMME. IF YOU DO NOT FIND IT, THEN IT IS YOUR DUTY TO LOOK ELSEWHERE.
YOU WILL HAVE ENSURED A PLACE FOR YOUR CHILDREN IN THE SCHEME OF THINGS TO
SAFEGUARD THEIR FUTURE WELL-BEING. MORE PEOPLE HAVE GONE DOWN THE DARK HOLE
FOR HELPING GREEDY POLITICIANS TO AMASS WEALTH AT THEIR OWN COST.
VOTE FOR A PARTY PROGRAMME WHICH IS DISCIPLINED, AND REMAINS DISCIPLINED
AND RIGID IN ITS ATTITUDE AT ALL TIMES TOWARDS ITS DECLARED PARTY
PROCEDURES.
Dear Goans,
In Goa, if one wants to know the effectiveness of one's deeds, this old
Konkani saying sums it up at one go.
"Tumvem Kelaim Kitem, Tum Kortai Kitem ani Tum Kortoloi Kitem" which simply
means:
["What have you done, What are you doing, and What will you do"]
As far as Goa's politics and politicking is concerned, we all know what all
has been done for Goa in the past since 1961. Goa needs to get into the
Guinness Book of World Records for that. We know what is happening
presently. Whether we like it or not is something that will make or break
Goa, henceforth. But importantly, Goans must want to know what will happen
in the near future especially that the call for the next elections is
nearing. If they get a jolt to see what will happen, then they must
collectively look for the above 10 points and try to find them in the
respective political parties of their choice.
It is next to impossible to find many of the gems elaborated above in most
of our existing long-time political parties. This makes it obvious to us
that what is happening to Goa today is directly related to the deficiencies.
Perhaps they can change for the better. If they do, then it will be good for
Goa. But what happens if they refuse to change? It is said that if one is a
total vegetarian it is next to impossible to survive on a non-vegetarian
diet, especially since the body metabolism refused to accept an alien diet.
This is surely bound to happen with long-term political metabolism in
accepting the above 10 point diet to satisfy their respective constituents.
If it is imperative that Goa's politics must change its face, then it is
equally imperative that people try issuing ultimatums of 'do or die' to
their respective political parties, which have become the personal
appendages in life and move forward to find for themselves one to call their
own which satisfies the itinerary and/or more specifically 'the new agenda'
for change.
Goans cannot afford to be lead like horses with blinkers on their eyes any
more, especially after Goa's political class has sent an unmistakable signal
to Goans through the deadly bodily attack on the person of Adv. Aires
Rodrigues and Prof. Prajal Sahardande to say that: " We will leave you alone
as long as you leave us alone to our own machinations" Are Goans ready to
be cowed down by this ultimatum?
Let there be competition for the improvement of the political constitutions
and performances and let the best political party lead the way.
The JUDGE AND THE JURY will the the people of Goa when their dry and parched
throats are wetted, their hungry stomachs are filled, their futuristic
aspirations are realized and their day to day life becomes more bearable and
comfortable, not entirely with a little bit of self-sacrifice and
understanding that good takes time to replace the bad.
