Almost any bandh in Goa tends to be a success given a sufficient critical mass of thugs,goons and idlers. So closure of shops and stoppage of buses need not be taken as a sign of complete support.
After all who in his right mind wants his shop busted or his skull cracked? Who in his right senses wants to drive a vehicle during a bandh? All it takes is a small stone thrown from hiding to smash a windscreen to smithereens. Many of those who downed shutters did so because they were afraid of the goons, thugs and louts and not necessarily because they supported the cause. Many who stayed away from work used the bandh as an excuse to shirk.
