I got some wonderful news today, just now on my answering machine ..........
I have been chosen for the MONTREAL WOMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD FOR 2008. For
those of you who are unfamiliar - it's an award that is given out each year by
the Montreal Council of Women, a provincial and a national umbrella
organization. (I believe it is the first time a woman of Indian origin
has been chosen. ) There will be an Awards Luncheon at 11.30 am at the
Chateau Champlain hotel downtown on Monday, November 17th open to the public.

I am a bit stunned but very happy to be recognized by this beautiful city I
love and wanted to share this with you.
For Montrealers, 35 of my new works will be on display and for sale at McGill
University (Leacock Bldg) noon to 9 pm on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 21st, in
collaboration with SAWA (South Asian Women's Aid-McGill ). Vernissage at 6.30
pm followed by a talk and interactive discussion on the paintings. You are all
invited to attend. And if you are in the vicinity of Notre Dame West, drop in
on a Thursday evening to the GRIFFINTOWN RESTAURANT www.griffintowncafe.com
