PANJIM,OCT-20 [Justifying Babush Monseratte action in the allegations of rape case, Power Minister Alexio Sequeira today claimed that what Education Minister is doing for his son today is no different than what any other person would have done. Monseratte's son Rohit has been charged of raping a minor German girl but the police are yet to find his whereabouts. "If my son had committed such an act, in first place I would condemn it but let me tell you in the same breath that I would have left no stone unturned to try and help the boy," Sequeira told reporters. This is not an easy situation to a father, who is a minister, it is embarrassing let me tell you, he said. "Being minister we have to take extra care that our children do not get involved in anything as the media makes a mountain out of a mole if our children are involved," he claimed. He also suggested that "I am not here to say whether the boy has committee the crime or not but the charges framed against the boy are very stringent."] "United we stand divided we fall, no matter what the issue is, as long as we stay in power", that's the MANTRA of the Congress today, first it was PWD Minister and now it's the Power Minister endorsing Babush Monseratte, doing their best to hold on to power a gateway to "fortune paradise". Does Mr. Alex Sequeira know that harboring and abetting a fugitive is a felony ? It is true that a person is not guilty until proved guilty, but for that the accused must surrender to the Authorities, and let the Law take it's course. Why is he hiding if he is not guilty ? Don't the parents know where he is ? Have they filled a missing complaint ? Shouldn't the police take the parents in for questioning ? Wouldn't they do it to Aam Aadmi and harass the parents if he was a son of Aam Aadmi ? So why the double standard ? Is the police scared of a second attack on the police station, if they do their job? Does Mr. Sequeira mean to say, that if his son was guilty of such a crime, he would do what ever possible to help him get away with it ? Are we in a democracy or a dictatorship, where, you can get away with anything ? And this statement is made to the media, and the media did not have the ba - - s to question him further ? Here is a man, giving his siblings the license to do what they like, are the Ministers and MLA's above the law ? I am not aware of the number of siblings Mr. Sequeira has, but how would he react if his daughter was raped and accused got away with it ? Would it be ok with him ? You call yourselves lawmakers, it's pathetic, isn't it ? Is the Law only for Aam Aadmi ? If everyone follows Mr. Sequeira's message, do you have any idea what the law and order situation will be ? If you'll can get away with crimes, why can't we ? Every person will think the same, Being MLA's and Ministers, if your siblings are accused of rape it's only embarrassing to you'll, have you'll thought of what the victim must be going through, if your siblings are guilty or don't you'll care at all ? Mr. Sequeira, if rape is a mole what is a mountain to you, "world war II" ? or don't you know the difference between the two ? You mean to say that if your siblings are involved in crimes, Aam Aadmi should not do anything about it ? Let me tell you one thing loud and clear, once you are elected you become public property and you are accountable for your actions as well as your family's, just because you are elected, you and your family cannot run around doing what you like, were you not aware of this before, or did you join politics thinking it was all fun and games and a money making mechanism ? All this shows just how arrogant our MLA's and Ministers are, they think they should get away with anything, They think they should protect their own whether guilty or not, they protect all the goons and hoodlums who do their dirty work as well and the innocent Aam Aadmi is harassed for no reasons, this is the Law in Goa. It's high time we showed these scumbags the DOOR.
