Title: BIG LIES - The Right-Wing Propaganda Machine and How it Distorts the
Truth, by Joe Conason;
>
For starters, Mario could read this book.

Mario responds:
>
Joe Conason is a well known propagandist from the far left kook fringe, and so,
anything he writes is filled with the same kind of slander, distortion,
untruths and half-truths he accuses the right wing propaganda machine of
engaging in.

For starters, Gilbert should read my post titled [Goanet] Voodoo discussions:

>
Then the main course, re-education in how economics and politics work in the
USA. Since Gilbert professes to be a conservative Christian he should read the
following list of books by self-described polemicist Ann Coulter, his
conservative Christian counterpoint to Joe Conason. These are all available
through Amazon.com. Gilbert should find information in these books that
address his specific concerns as a conservative Christian interested in
economics and politics.

BTW, while Joe Conason only has a bachelor's degree in history from Brandeis
University, Ann Coulter is a constitutional attorney. She is a cum laude
graduate of Cornell University, and the University of Michigan Law School,
where she edited the Michigan Law Review.

Then he should read the best seller, "Fleeced", by one of Bill Clinton's former
advisors, Dick Morris, published by Harper Collins, which explains how politics
and economics intersect.
>
Finally, to enhance his knowledge of basic economics, the brand new publication
written specifically to explain the current financial crisis and how higher
taxes would cause the current economy to get much worse, is a book by
conservative economists Stephen Moore, Arthur Laffer and Peter Tanous, "End of
Prosperity: How Higher Taxes Will Doom the Economy--If We Let It Happen",
published by Threshold Editions, ISBN-13: 9781416592389, available at Barnes &
Noble.

Stephen Moore is an economist who founded the Club For Growth and is member of
the editorial board at the Wall Street Journal.

Then, I would like Gilbert to write an essay on something he may be more
familiar with as a physician: whether Chiropractic or Acupuncture is better
than Orthopedics in treating back pain. The next topic I would like to hear
from Gilbert on is whether homeopathy is better than allopathy in the treatment
of diseases, and whether either of these is superior to ayurveda or vice versa.
>
By the time he does all that, he will be far more educated and knowledgeable of
American economics and politics, not to mention Chiropractic, Acupuncture,
Ayurveda and Homeopathy, and the rest of us may all be thankfully on the other
side of the grass:-))
