Dear Sam,

You have the right spirit but it is water on duck's back.

If you remember, Seby (Sebastian Rodrigues) was named as Naxalite by the LOO and you are aware of the recriminations thereafter. We took up the cudgels as a political party whose member was being defamed and everything subsided. At the presentation of ills of mining in Goa delivered by Seby at Manvin's Panjim, we openly offered Seby the Party's ticket for Pale bi-elections ( which Seby had agreed upon) provided the anti-mining activists will support him. Eventually Seby declined as he was advised against contesting by the very same activists' who will be voting for the BJP and the Congress. Do you see the trend? Seby's contest would have exposed these guys raw as they would have to campaign for Seby and thereby lose a lot of election-time mulla. We have told Seby this, and also that the Party's ticket is all his if he decides to just go ahead and agree to file his nominations with or without his activist friends or their support. We have aslo told Seby that the Party will under-write the election deposit of Rs. 10000/- and that he need not campaign at all, that he should be happy to take 'ZERO' votes because this will expose the nexus between the mine-owners and the ring leader activists who make most money (not all though) during elections.

The funny things is that according to Seby, they are advising him against contesting for his own good, safety, and well being and most absurd of all, that he is too young.

WE WANT TO SAVE GOA FROM THE COMFORTS OF OUR BEDROOMS, which does not happen.

Subject: [Goanet] Activists just go in hiding when it comes to elections ?

It is important to have someone in Pale so that decent people dont have to vote for parties that have rapists in them. For now, both Congress and
BJP seem to be harbouring alleged rapists' fathers.

But then the activists seem to go in hiding just when the elections are
around the corner.

Will the NRGs put their money where their mouth is and ensure that there
is money for the campaign, if there is a candidate ?

I am really not in the loop as to what the thinking is in the activist
circles and sitting here in Bangalore there is only
so much I can do. Other than that, I promise to come down for campaigning
for a few days.

regards,
Samir
